Lynn's '60 Sedan

I purchased the 1960 Falcon in 1986 a running car with 63,000 miles on the odometer , 144 cu. in. 6 cylinder with automatic transmission, Monte Carlo Red exterior, Black, Gray, and White Interior.

I started collecting NOS parts to restore it to the original condition, but when I finally started working on it in 1995 I decided it was going to be a driver, so if I was going to keep up Ricky, Leon, and the rest of the gang the 144 6 cylinder would have to go.

I started by installing 1965 Falcon V-8 5 Lug front suspension, which was a bolt in everything fits, Pittman Arm, Idler Arm, Upper and Lower Control Arms, and etc. Next was what needed modifying to install the V-8? Modify the transmission hump to clear the V-8 Bellhousing (Installed part of firewall and transmission hump from a 1965 Falcon), Adding V-8 motor mounts from any 1963 thru 1965 Falcon. I installed a 1990 Mustang 5.0 H.O engine Modified with 2 4 barrel carburetors, B-303 cam, Windage tray, and Headers.

The engine is backed up by a T-5 5 speed transmission with cable operated clutch, 1972 Comet 8” axle housing and axles with 3.80 gears. For handling it has a 1-1/8” front sway bar, 3/4” rear sway bar, traction bars, and 14” x 7” wide wheels.

The exterior was painted the original color of Monte Carlo Red, the interior was done in Black and Gray.
