A/C Rotary Vacuum Switch

The Ford Maverick had a total of 3 different part numbers for the A/C vacuum switch assembly. The Ford & Mercury Parts Manuals show a D0DZ, a D2ZZ, and a D5DZ -19B888-A

D0DZ is made of pot metal, the D2ZZ and D5DZ are made of plastic. The micro switch is replaceable on the D0DZ vacuum switch whereas on the plastic valves the switch is not. The differences between the D2ZZ and D5DZ is the D5DZ had a extra bump or high spot on the valve that will activate the AC compressor when the control is set on defrost. The D0DZ valve and micro switch can be used as a replacement if you rotate the vacuum hoses harness 180 degrees.
