Tail Lamp Assembly
There was a change sometime in either late 70 or early 71 with the tail light assemblies. I have seen both style assembles on the same car. Notice the reverse lens on the late lens has a red border on the top and bottom. The lens texture pattern is also different. Not shown in photos are the gaskets to go with the different lens.

The 71-72 Comet tail lights have a smaller reverse lens compared to the 73-77 lens.
